Balnahard sleeps up to 10 people and is the ideal retreat for family holidays , as well as for smaller groups or couples wanting to get away from it all.
Prices for Balnahard Farmhouse range from £350.00 to £970.00 per week, dependant on season. Good discounts are available for small parties, booking out of peak season.
The accomodation is generous enough to sleep 10 (in four bedrooms), and care has been taken to equip the house to reflect this, without losing it's homely feel. There are comfortable traditional furnishings throughout, and shelves of books, including Colonsay reference books, as well as general reading to suit all tastes. The house is ideal for large family groups looking for a cosy but practical house in an ideal location, as well as for couples wanting quiet secluded accomodation in beautiful surroundings.

The house is a traditional 1860’s West Highland farmhouse, set within it’s own fenced garden, 2.5 miles from the public road, and surrounded by 1200 acres of conservation farmland, all rich with bird and plant life.
There are numerous walks from the house, with miles of coastline to explore and hills to climb
It is also heated by electric storage heaters and the large wood burning stove. Wood is provided, but we would encourage you to do as we do and collect drift wood when out and about.
Outside The house is surrounded by it’s own fenced/walled garden. The front garden is mainly laid to lawn, with a shingle seating area around the house. The back garden is also lawned, and houses the drying green. Herbs and rhubarb grow in the garden for guests to help themselves to. There is plenty of parking.

The track that runs from the main road to the house is restricted from use by other vehicles, which means that it is very peaceful. However, it is an unmade road and a little bumpy, so cars very low to the ground are not recommended, although the average family car can negotiate it with care with no problems.
The house is the only accommodation within the farmland, except for a small flat in the top of one of the farm buildings, which we use ourselves. We are not always resident, so the farm is mainly run by one of the other farms on the island. This makes the house and surroundings very private.
We have endeavoured to keep extras to a minimum, this making your stay as relaxing as possible.
Included in the price is:
• Set of bed linen for each bed
• Tea towels & cleaning cloths.
• Bath Towels, hand towels & bathmats (please bring your own beach towels!)

• Telephone. (Calls charged at the end of your stay)
